Who Am I
Music found Dario Dvon long before he understood where it would take him. At just eight years old in Barbados, he discovered the power of his voice and the joy of performing. From school stages to community events, singing quickly became more than a hobby, it became his calling. As he grew, so did his presence on stage. Dario went on to work in the entertainment industry at Sandals Barbados and Sandals Royal, where his passion for performance flourished. During that time, he was honoured with the title of Best Male Vocalist in the Region through the Sandals Festival of the Arts an early recognition that confirmed music was not just something he loved, but something he was meant to pursue.Still, Dario knew his journey was only beginning. With a dream bigger than the island that raised him, he made the bold decision to move to Canada to build a life and career through music. Starting over in a new country came with challenges, uncertainty, and moments of doubt but music remained his refuge.
One moment that shaped his resilience came during the Baje to the World semi-finals, where he performed Prince’s iconic song Purple Rain. After the performance, one of the judges admitted he didn’t believe Dario belonged in the competition. While the comment could have discouraged him, it instead ignited a deeper determination. Not long after, Dario performed the very same song again this time at Taste of Lawrence where his performance earned him the Rising Star Award. That moment became a reminder that belief in yourself must sometimes be louder than the voices that doubt you.
Another defining chapter came with the Black Diamond Ball Vocalist Competition. In 2024, Dario arrived excited to compete, only to learn that his name wasn’t on the contestant list. Instead of performing, he spent the evening watching from the audience. Rather than giving up, he returned the following year, stepping onto that same stage as a contestant and leaving as the Vocalist Winner.
Through every challenge and victory, Dario has continued to grow within Toronto’s music scene. He released his first original song, “I See You,” through the Beat Cave songwriting camp and has since performed at events such as Open Mic Toronto, Taste of Lawrence, and Jerk Fest’s Show Your Flow, where he was crowned winner. But beyond awards and stages, Dario’s mission is deeper.
Through his music, voice coaching, and creative work, he is building The Dreamerz a community of artists and visionaries who believe in chasing their dreams, rewriting their stories, and standing boldly in their truth.
For Dario, music is more than performance. It is resilience. It is healing. It is the courage to dream out loud. And his journey is only just beginning.
